Aparthés

A house that does things apart.

Chapter 0, second half of 2027. The first pieces are revealed by the end of 2026. Be told first

The most desirable house desirable of its generation. From Paris.

I · The house

Who is Aparthés?

Aparthés makes leather goods and a wardrobe, held to the same standard. The leather goods are made in Ubrique, in Andalusia. The wardrobe is sewn in Europe, mainly in Portugal.

Aparthés works with natural materials: lamb, calf, silk, cotton and a good many others. Synthetics we avoid, except where they are genuinely useful.

A house is not judged on its intentions. We do not follow fashion, we make it.

Parisian scene, the spirit of the house
II · The series continues

Two workshops,
one standard.

01

LEATHER GOODS

Calf and lamb made in Ubrique, and cowhide depending on the piece. Shapes we keep, remake, and improve.

02

THE WARDROBE

Wool, cashmere, cotton, silk. Sewn in Europe, mainly in Portugal. We choose the country for its craft, not for its flag on the label.

III · The material

Three leathers, three characters.

We write what is inside, on the right side as on the reverse. Lamb, calf, cowhide: what we do with them is set out in the chronicle on the leathers.

Calf
01

Calf. A fine, even grain, because the skin is young and carries few marks. It is the one that changes most beautifully with time.

Lamb
02

Lamb. The softest of the three: it falls, it follows the shape instead of holding it.

Cowhide
03

Cowhide. The thickest and the firmest of the three. It is the one that carries the pieces that have to stand up.

The fibers.

Four textiles for the wardrobe. The thresholds are set out in the chronicle on the fibers.

Wool
01

Wool and cashmere. A wool that itches is not a matter of quality, it is a matter of thickness: above about 30 microns, the fiber is no longer fine enough to bend against the skin, so it presses. Ours is at 19.

Cotton
02

Cotton. Those small balls that appear on a knit do not come from the wash, they come from the length of the fiber: the shorter it is, the more ends it has to shed. Ordinary cotton runs to 26 millimeters, ours to 35.

Silk
03

Silk. A twill crosses its threads on the diagonal: the surface catches, and the knot bites instead of sliding. Ours weighs 14 mommes, the weight of the silk square.

IV · The gesture Aparthés · Workshop

The time it takes, no more no less.

The right gesture has a rhythm; that of the hand working the leather in Ubrique, that of the thread drawn taut on a machine in Europe. We give it its time. That tempo is in every piece.

IV · Chapter 0

Three pieces, a door opening.

Three pieces, two of leather goods and the first of the wardrobe. The first prototypes are revealed by the end of 2026.

01

The charm.

An object you clip on, move around, pass on. You choose it, you wear it, and it says something about the person wearing it.

02

The Stroup.

Our first bag. A round, short shape, in leather; the mother line of the leather goods, the one the others will come from, already in the works.

03

The Paraphe.

A band of silk that ties at the wrist, at the handle, wherever you like. Printed silk twill, hand-rolled hem, our mark embroidered at one end. The first piece of the wardrobe.

V · The confidential edition

Confidential edition.

The Confidential Edition is material already born, put back to work: our leather offcuts, and material from the dormant stocks of the greatest houses.

Our offcuts, we produce with every piece. They never run out, they renew themselves and become new pieces in their turn.
